okay so my buddy just got a cold air intake for his 89 toyota pickup from a guy off craigslist who said he bought it for his 3.0, but said it didn't fit and that it was for a 22re. thats what he has. he bought it and just tried putting it on... it didn't fit right but i took off all of the stock intake tubing from my airfilter. i sprayed wd40 into the little rubber bushing by the throttle body to help the tubing slip back in easier. that cold air didn't fit so i put all the crap back together and now his truck won't run worth balls, and the check engine light is on now. what the hell is wrong! it won't idle and when you give it gas it dies. it keeps crappin out. what is going on?

I have no noise from the steering rack at all. It just barely moves 1/8" Doesn't really move just twists on the big bushing that wraps around the rack. Not sure I need to replace the bushings or not??

My question is. Are the energy suspension and wheelers bushings good quality? I do not want to modify them.

Are these a direct fit? I read some posts that you have to modify one sleeve on a bushing. Not sure if that was an older model and its updated now.

Where can I purchase these bushings at?

Are these the ones that everyone is getting? http://www.wheelersoffroad.com/tacorackbushkit.htm
Thanks for all the help!

$5,000 FOR THE TRUCK AND ILL GIVE THE PARTS TRUCK TO YOU FOR $500, IF THE RIG SELLS WITH OUT PARTS TRUCK I MIGHT PART IT OUT
CONTACT: 9 TWO 8 NINE 2 FIVE 3 ONE 9 FIVE : BRIAN

Im selling my 84 because I bought Kevins (toyzilla) 4runner and this one is just sitting. The body is in good shape no rust or major dents other than one in tailgate , interior is also in decent shape with corbeau racing seats with 4 point harness, grant steering wheel, sony cd player alpine speakers and the A/C works great!!!!

* tube front/ rear bumpers and rock sliders that are strong enough to lift the truck at any point with a high lift jack (which is included with the sale)

* 5 spd manual trans with no issues

* 6"skyjacker lift & longer shackels wich are broke in and flex well

* long travel one piece drive lines front and rear. Rear has double caradan joint

* front axel> has 5.29 gears and tru-trac locker, 1.5" spacers. P/O said it had chromolly axles (not longs)but I cant confirm and did not includ it in price

* rear axe>l also with 5.29 gears but locked with a detroit full locker 1.5" spacers

* Marlin Crawler crawl box with 4:70:1 ratio

* 35x14.5x15 interco boggers with black rock crawler rims

This rig has 179k miles but has not been a daily driver by me or the previous owner so miles on parts are minimal(less than 500mi since I bought it 3 years ago). I change the oil every 6 months with synthetic and a quart of lucas oil to keep the engine in good shape and also drive it around town or up to the store weekly to keep cylinders, gears and seals maintained. This rig and has never been put to its full potential but its prety unstopable I've had it in soft sand, rocks, badly worn trails and even entered it in a mud bogg competition whrer it was keeping up with full sized v8 chevys on 38s and still gets 15 mpg's with the boggers

If you plan on driving this thing around I have a set of 35" bfg a/ts with alluminum rims that I could make you a deal on also I have a complete parts truck I would be willing to throw in for $500 4" procomp lift everything else is stock with 4.10 gears ran perfect when parked but that was 1.5 years ago

Here is the situation, 04 Extra Cab Taco with stock front shocks, Toytec spacers and OME 881 coils. As it is now the truck rides great and the CVs do just fine, I don't have a diff drop.

In about 2 weeks I will be ready to install a Shrockworks front bumper and Warn M8000 that weigh in at right about 200 pounds. The OME 881 are not going to work obviously.

From what I have read, coil-overs are the best for extra weight and ease of adjustability. At the same time though, I love in Ohio and this is my DD. Many people have said don't waste your money, the salt will eat them and you will rebuild them way too much. Also of course, cost is a bit higher than other setups but I am not as concerned with that.

The Bilstien struts/shocks are said to be a little soft for front lift coils (either Eibach or OME) and are possibly weaker than OME struts/shocks. Is ths true?

OME shocks and struts seem pretty nice but I have read some stories of them not setteling. I'm also not sure if the 882 or 883 coils would be best for me?

So I guess the question is, if you had my truck what front suspension would you buy? Keep in mind I have stock rear springs with 2" shackles and need to support about 200 pounds extra up front. On-road ride is more important than off-road flex for this vehicle, I have a trail rig.

Thanks a ton,
* front axel> has 5.29 gears and tru-trac locker, 1.5" spacers.

Due to a recent mishap in another chapter, we have decided that common sense doesn't flow with everyone, therefore some reinforced ground rules need to be laid out.

For now we will maintain with the national guidelines as far as forum use, nothing new regarding these guidelines is being presented at this time.

As far as attending any Northern California TTORA Run, there are some rules;

1) Pack it in pack it out. There will be no littering from any person attending a NorCal run. If you see some trash on the trail, stop and pick it up. It only takes an enemy to offroading seeing trash one time to get an area closed...

2) Inappropriate/Illegal activities will result in a ban from any future runs as well as a perma ban from the forum. The punishment will depend on the severity of the incident (at staff's discretion). You may be asked to leave the run.

3) We are a group that treads lightly and maintains trails to keep them open, keep it that way. Going off trail is considered an inappropriate activity, and will be dealt with.

4) Make sure your rig is recoverable, it is your sole responsibility. Damage to your vehicle is on you, unless wrecklessness is involved. Northern California TTORA or it's members are not responsible for damaged vehicles or property.

5) Please obey all local and state traffic laws, regardless if your on paved road or not. LEO's are out on the trails and will get you, make sure your seatbelted, on trail, not leaking sediments anywhere, and cleaning up after yourself.

Again, these are common sense to most of us, but some people don't have a clue.

If there is anything you would like to add please PM myself or Phill and it will be discussed.

Chris
